Polyvagal Theory helps us understand how our body reacts to stress or trauma by showing how different states of our nervous system—like feeling safe, going into fight-or-flight, or shutting down—affect our emotions and physical reactions.
It gives us insight into why we might feel stuck, disconnected, or overreactive after something triggers us. In our work together, I use this framework to help you tune into your body and learn how to calm your nervous system, creating a sense of safety before and during healing. You’ll start to notice when your body shifts into different states, like fight, flight, freeze, or calm, so you can learn to manage them more easily.
